 The retreat will be held at the beautiful and rugged Sea-to-Sky Retreat
 Centre (SSRC) just south of Whistler, B.C. The SSRC was founded in 1993 by
 Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. The site is secluded on 40 acres on the east
 side of Daisy Lake in the beautiful British Columbia coastal mountains. The
 centre was been hosting a range of events since 1995 including group and
 personal retreats for both Buddhists and non-Buddhists.

New Bodyvine Yoga Studio Schedule

Just a quick note regarding our winter schedule. We have changed our Thursday 12:00pm Hatha, to a Flow class instead. We have also changed our 10:00am Friday morning gentle yoga to a 9:30am Flow as well.

Any feedback of class times or class styles is greatly encouraged and appreciated.

Silent Auction for Haiti

The Yoga Studio www.theyogastudiosquamish.com is hosting a silent auction to raise money for the Red Cross efforts to help in the Haiti earthquake disaster.  Below is a list of items available, and we hope you will be able to come by and bid during the auction times tomorrow or Friday.  All are welcome - please help us spread the word so we can raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.

Silent Auction Times.
Thursday January 28th - 1 p.m till 5 p.m. (also before/after evening classes)
Friday January 29th - 1 p.m. till 5 p.m.  and 7:45 till 8:30 pm (friday evening we'll have tea and snacks donated from Zephyr for your munching pleasure)

Other events to raise money include a level 1 yoga class on Friday Evening at 5:30 with Sasha Cohen drumming to the beat of the breath.  After the class we will have a guided Full moon meditation.  %100 of the proceeds from the class and the meditation will go to the red cross.  All are welcome - please help us spread the word.

Saturday 10:00am - 1:00pm 'Open to Grace' The morning practice  is a dynamic flow of Sun Salutations, standing poses, inversions and back bends.
 
Saturday 2:30 - 5:00pm 'Grounded for Greatness' The afternoon 
practice is a delightful mix of hip openers, twists and forward folds.
 
   $35 for one workshop or $60 for both.

Please note we will be closed for the long weekend Sat-Mon.

Outdoor Yoga for Summer

This Sunday June 14th is the beginning of our By Donation Outdoor Classes. Location is at The Rose Park (across from the adventure centre in squamish - there is lots of parking). Class will start at 9am. Bring a mat if you have one but there will be some to borrow if you don't own one. Dress according to the weather! And if it happens to rain ;-( (but it won't right) the class will not be running. Check out the poster for anymore details or if you have any question's just send me an email at sacredlightyoga@hotmail.com and I'll try to answer it as best I can.

There are 9 instructors volunteering to teach this class and this week I'll be the teacher to present the first class ~ I look forward to seeing you there and I hope you can make it out to support our wonderful local teachers during the summer.

Summer Yoga Schedules

Bodyvine will be saying good-bye to Marie, as she will be moving away from Squamish. A beautiful teacher who motivated many to start their day with an early bird practice. As well as her inspiring pre-natal classes that prepared so many women in our community with the confidence and ease to experience a peaceful birth. You will be missed.

As life shows us time and time again, when one light dims a new light shines, with the arrival of our new instructor, Erin Urton from Canmore, Alberta. With many styles of yoga under her belt, I look forward to having her join our team and share her energy and love of yoga with you.

Please note we will be closed on Saturday June 20th. As Squamish will be celebrating the test of metal competition. Bodyvine is a proud sponsor this year, so we will supporting this event from our booth at the finish line.

Spring is soon approaching and so is our new spring schedule. We have some great new classes to offer...such as Yoga for Athletes and Flowing into Meditation with Kimberly. We will also be offering a Community Class by donation, with Joanne Leo. This will be in support of the Squamish Community Foundation. So your reward for participating in this yoga class will come right back to you, in the community:) FANTASTIC! Please note this schedule will not be starting until April 1st.
