Valentine’s Day is often associated with romantic love, but there are many kinds of love we can celebrate: love for our parents, sister, brother, friends or a pet, but most importantly love for ourselves. This is usually the one that is most neglected, yet the quality of your relationship with you and yourself is paramount, for all your other relationships are based on it.

If you listen closely to your thoughts, often you are criticizing yourself for something, judging your thoughts or actions, or being unforgiving of your ‘flaws’. Do you practice self love or do you override your own needs, run yourself ragged, dismiss your own thoughts, or not honour your own feelings? We offer unconditional love to others, give them compassion, understanding, respect, support and forgiveness, but do we do this for ourselves?

Soul Purpose Alignment and Reiki

Dearest Friends and Family of my HEART,

 

I hope that these days you are practicing the "BEING" as opposed to the "DOING" and you are enjoying the abundant waves of new energies coming in to teach us about "surrender" which I hope you're able to embrace with grace and acceptance instead of being in "resistance" and by being forced into these new lessons :)

 

I hope that you're always in your heart, in your joy, and in your absolute creativity of your original power; being reminded of your divinity on a daily basis; if not by others by your self, and by simple KNOWING and by following the wisdom of your own spirit. I am so happy that we are traveling this path together and discovering our gifts as the members of the same soul family.

 

I would like to inform you that I will be coming into Vancouver and Squamish for a short while during the Olympic madness to offer one-on-one Soul Purpose Alignment sessions and Reiki attunements (for all levels) from February 25th until March 16th. I know it's only for a short while and I'm aware the timing isn't the best but I am hoping I'll get to work with those of you whom I trust will be around and whom are able to cross paths with me, to catch up, connect, and accelerate their sacred journey at the right time and right place that is meant to be. We know it's all perfect as the divine timing is everything. Please remember that I am also always available to you for long distance sessions anytime and anywhere, wherever you are in the world! :)

Boil and let simmer for 30-45 minutes until cooked. Drain rice, and in a medium bowl, combine all salad ingredients and toss. In a bowl, combine dressing ingredients together and mix well. Pour over salad, mix and serve. Makes 6 servings   Recipe from Amrita Sondhi'sModern Ayurvedic Cookbook www.movementglobal.com Here's a sweet Valentine's recipe from the heart for your loved ones: Date Bars Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream: 1/2 cup of butter 1/2 brown demerara sugar Add and beat well: 1 egg 6 tbsp milk (any kind) 1 cup chopped dates 1 cup chopped pecans Sift together: 1/4 cup flour (any kind) 1/4 tsp sea salt 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp cloves Add to the sifted ingredients: 3/4 cup flakes (any kind) Combine all ingredients. You may add: Juice and grated rind of 1 lemon Let dough mixture stand for about 15 minutes. Spread mixture into a 10 1/2" x 15 1/2 " greased cookie sheet. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until the dough begins to leave the sides of the pan. Cut into squares. Makes 40 squares

12,000 sweat glands,  3 arches, yards and yards of blood vessels

and approximately 7,200 nerve reflexes?

 

While the feet are the largest mass of energy in the whole body, they are also farthest away from the heart.  When circulation stagnates, toxins such as uric acid become trapped and calcium crystals form.  Reflexology easily detects these very sensitive areas in the feet and works to break up this "congestion" so circulation is improved and can help the body begin to normalize itself.

 

Reflexology should not be confused with massage. While they each have their own strength, they are two different modalities. Both involve the use of the hands to apply their techniques...the goal with both modalities is to enhance the well being of the client...but Reflexology is more than a foot massage and is often recommended by medical doctors,osteopathic physicans, podiatrists, and chiropractors. 

Similar maps of reflexes are found on the ears or the hands as well.  Through application of pressure on these reflexes - with hands only-Reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation, opens the flow in blocked nerves and helps promote the natural functioning and healing of the body.  Reflexology does not diagnose or prescribe.  The whole body is treated rather than a specific condition.

Essentially, Reflexology helps to balance the physical, mental and emotional aspects of your whole body. If an organ or gland is underactive or overactive, Reflexology can help return it to a normal level.

Just a quick note regarding our winter schedule. We have changed our Thursday 12:00pm Hatha, to a Flow class instead. We have also changed our 10:00am Friday morning gentle yoga to a 9:30am Flow as well.

Any feedback of class times or class styles is greatly encouraged and appreciated.

Silent Auction for Haiti

The Yoga Studio www.theyogastudiosquamish.com is hosting a silent auction to raise money for the Red Cross efforts to help in the Haiti earthquake disaster.  Below is a list of items available, and we hope you will be able to come by and bid during the auction times tomorrow or Friday.  All are welcome - please help us spread the word so we can raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.
